Visitation Policy
Thank you for choosing Sunny SoCal Bunnies. Because we are a closed rabbitry, visits are reserved exclusively for families who have completed our adoption application, been approved, and paid their deposit. These guidelines apply only to families already approved and waiting to collect their new companion.
We operate from our home rather than as a storefront, breeding facility, petting zoo or public venue. Our priority is the health, safety and well-being of the rabbits. To maintain optimal bio-security, we do not accommodate general public visits, allergy testing, photo sessions, “play dates” or visitor tours.
When your bunny is ready for pickup (generally at 7 to 8 weeks of age), we will schedule your appointment.
• You will receive a time slot on a weekend (and occasionally a weekday) for your pickup.
• Prior to scheduling, we require your deposit to secure your place and reserve your selected bunny.
• If you are more than 30 minutes late without notice, we must reschedule and the remaining balance becomes due immediately to hold your bunny.
• If you do not show up or contact us after missing your appointment, your adoption may be forfeited, the deposit may be non-refundable, and the bunny may be posted as available to others.
On pickup day:
• Call or email us ahead of time to confirm your arrival.
• Limit the number of guests to three family members. No pets may accompany you.
• The appointment will be approximately 30 minutes in our driveway. During that time we’ll complete the adoption paperwork, introduce you to your bunny’s daily care routine, and allow time for Q & A.
• For health and safety, please do not visit any other rabbit facilities, kennels or shelters on the day of your appointment. If you do, please return home, shower, change clothes, and change shoes before meeting us.
• At the appointment we will bring your bunny to you. You will not be allowed to handle or meet other rabbits. We do not permit “shopping visits” or browsing litters as though we were a pet store. Your visit is strictly for collecting your reserved bunny.
Additional notes:
Our bunnies often have a waiting list. Because we create a calm environment and limit traffic to our home, we do not offer open house visits or public tours of litters. If, rarely, we have unreserved bunnies remaining after all committed families have been served, we may send photos and videos of the available bunny with relevant details.
If you are not comfortable with these procedures, we understand and encourage you to explore other breeders. We are always happy to provide references from past families and to provide veterinary verification of our breeding program.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. We look forward to helping you bring home a healthy, well-prepared companion.
